Hotel del Coronado New Year’s Eve for Kids and Teens | 7PM to 12:30AM.  This is a kid-friendly and teen-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at the Hotel del Coronado.  It includes dinner, ice-skating, special shows, games, s’mores roasting, and a midnight toast of sparkling cider.  Call for reservations.

Skateworld San Diego New Year’s Eve Skate Party | 7PM to 1AM.  This is for all ages.  Everyone can dress up as their favorite character, if desired — and then roller skate the night away across the rink.  A ticket gets you admission, skate rental, personal pan pizza, soda, and noisemakers.  There will be games, prizes, and a whole lot of activities.  Great for the entire family!  Remember, tickets cost more at the door, so consider purchasing your family’s tickets online now.

CORONADO

The Hotel del Coronado Grand Ballroom Black-Tie New Year’s Eve Gala | 7PM to 1AM.  This is a 21+ event to ring in the New Year.   The Hotel del Coronado’s oceanfront Ballroom will be transformed into a vibrant setting inspired by the exotic sights and sounds of India, hence the theme of “A Passage to India.”  A delicious five-course feast and open bar comes with the price tag, so be sure to purchase your tickets or make your reservations now.

SHELTER ISLAND

Humphrey’s NYE Celebrations | 8PM until closing time.  Humphrey’s Restaurant and Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn on Shelter Island have two extravagant NYE celebrations!  They both involve dancing to accompany your party favors and champagne toast.  The more elegant one, of course, includes a 4-course prix fixe dinner.   Call ahead to make your reservations.

Hotel Republic 007 Bond Ball | 9PM until closing.  This black-tie affair is all about the James Bond 007 experience for your NYE celebrations — complete with 5 rooms of music including Open Format, House, Hip-Hop, EDM, and favorites from the ’80s and ’90s.  Set in the luxurious Hotel Republic, this NYE event is sure to be one that even James Bond himself would be proud of.

Old Hollywood NYE at The Shout! House | 5PM to closing.  There will be lights, dueling pianos, Hollywood glamour, champagne, and musical action at downtown’s The Shout! New Year’s Eve Speakeasy Celebration at The Abbey on Fifth Avenue | 8:30PM – 1AM.  There will be 1920 accessories for all, whether you dress up as a flapper girl or not.  Enjoy the glamour and extravagance of the 1920s era at this high-end venue with its champagne, hors d’oeuvres, complimentary party favors, and jazz music playing.

The Fourth Annual On With the Show New Year’s Eve Celebration of The Enchanted Carnivale, at North Park’s The Lafayette Hotel | Various times.  In town for one night only, this event is a show-stopper.  The Lafayette Hotel in North Park  is hosting this 1920s and 1930s style traveling funfair comprised of three venues — the Big Top, the Hall of Illusions, and the Odditorium.  There’s a 15+ band musical lineup.  And, the Odditorium promises an extravagant dinner with its burlesque vaudeville show — the dinner features stations for cheese, seafood hors d’oeuvres, small bites, carving station, pasta station, and dessert station.  What a unique way to ring in New Year 2018.

A British New Year’s Celebration, at Shakespeare Pub & Grill | 10:30AM – 7:30PM.  This one is for British expats wanting to ring in the New Year with the rest of the United Kingdom, who are 6000 miles away!  Doors will open 10:30AM Pacific Time, thus begins the countdown to 4PM Pacific Time (which will be midnight in Greenwich Mean Time).  There will be complimentary party favors for all attendees at the Shakespeare Pub & Grill, and the 4PM extravaganza includes live Bagpipes with Drummer.  Last Call will be at 7PM PST for the 7:30PM PST closing — making this venue the first place to begin your New Year’s celebrations before heading elsewhere the rest of the evening.
